Talking to the police

Do I ever have to speak to the police?

Even if you’re arrested and charged with a crime, you don’t have to say anything to the police.

You have the “right to remain silent” whether you’re guilty or innocent. You also have this right whether the police have told you about it or not.

Even if you have a trial, you still don’t have to say anything.
